Your Over 40 Style Guide
Have you ever found yourself wondering, where do I go from here? As midlife women, many of us are in the midst of a reinvention, yet often we derail our own dreams with self-doubt.
As an Administrator on the popular Forever Fierce Revolution Facebook page, I’ve read your posts and know we have much in common, you and I.
While traveling a few weeks ago, I popped into a bookstore on a layover and picked up the fabulous Chrissy Metz’s new book, THIS IS ME. You probably know this lovely soul from one of the most heart-felt, popular shows on television, This Is Us.
For those of us in need of a compass or a you’ve got this girl pep talk, Chrissy’s filled her tell-all book with brilliant nuggets of life-changing stuff you’re going to want to write down. She also challenges us to both show up for ourselves and gives us a roadmap on how to discover and live our dreams.
I’m hoping beautiful Chrissy won’t mind if I share some of her sage words of wisdom with our tribe, because they are SO GOOD!
Showing up for yourself is sometimes the lesson. It’s only a failure if you don’t try in the first place. Your dream might evolve.
So good, right?
Your mind is a garden and your thoughts are the seeds.
In other words, that negative self-talk dance we do is undermining our beautiful gardens.

Now that we are pumped and motivated, let’s chat fashion, shall we darlings? If you’ve ever stopped yourself from wearing a certain fashion trend or color, check yourself, girlfriend. Wear what gives you joy and makes your heart sing!
Slip into that outfit, take a good long look in the mirror, then give yourself a high five for staying true to yourself.
I fell in love with the geometric pattern and joyful color of this chic spring dress. It’s lightweight and will be a “cool” choice both for spring and on hot summer days.
As for accessorizing your look, black is always in style, and spring/summer offers even more exciting color options. For this look, I wanted to showcase the dress, so I kept my accessories simple, classic and understated.
