An Honest Product Review of Look Fabulous Forever Makeup

You may need to sit down for this exciting news. Comfy? Good, there is a complete beauty line created by and specifically for mature skin, and the “models” … there aren’t any. Look Fabulous Forever   uses real women for their website and advertising! I made your day right? Wait, it gets better.

Look Fabulous Forever was created by Tricia Cusden, who’s philosophy is, “age is no barrier to looking fabulous”. She describes her beautiful makeup as ‘pro-age’ which means that it is specifically formulated to suit more mature faces, eyes and lips. And the choir sings!

Not only is the Look Fabulous Forever line impressive, if you hop on over to their website, you’ll find a wide array of informative and helpful video tutorials from application, to makeovers. There’s even a page to assist in choosing the right colors for your specific skin tone.

Look Fabulous Forever has already established an impressive reputation in their home country, the United Kingdom, earning applause from newspapers, magazines and the BBC.

Since mature skin is a global gig and they ship to the United States (along with Europe, Canada and Australia), Look Fabulous Forever reached out to ask me to test drive some of their eye shadows and mascara. Who am I to turn down the opportunity to check out a line designed with my mature skin in mind!

LFF sent me their eye shadows in Cream, Taupe and Cocoa. In addition, they included a Fabulous Lid Colour (a creamy shadow applied with sponge), eye primer and mascara.

I started with their creamy Fabulous Eye Prime (shocking, right?) which is designed to:

♦ Neutralize any discoloration

♦ Form the perfect base for eye makeup

♦ Keep eye makeup in place all day

♦ Prevent makeup from migrating into any lines you may have

♦ Help the eyelids look less ‘crepey’

My experience with the Fabulous Eye Prime was quite positive indeed. The creamy primer goes on smoothly and evenly and is the perfect neutral shade. It did live up to all it’s claims and my shadows never creased, even after a full day of wear.

Next up, I applied the Cream colored shadow all over my lid using one of my favorite brushes.

I’ll start with the color, a beautiful neutral shade that worked beautifully as my base color as well as the highlighter just under my brows.

Next, I applied the Taupe shadow from my eyelashes to the crease of my lid. This color is warm and scrumptious, and looks like the perfect blend of grey and brown. I like the fact that upon first application, the color isn’t overpowering, allowing one to build a look from subtle to dramatic with just the swish of a brush and more shadow.

To finish the look, I applied the Cocoa shadow above my hooded lid (ugggg) to create the illusion of a higher crease. The Cocoa is a yummy color, warm and rich in pigment. It worked in perfect harmony with the Cream and Taupe shadows.

Using a finishing brush, I blended the shadows liberally until the colors blended together seamlessly.

I added my own powder eyeliner then applied the Fabulous Lash Mascara in black. Hands down, this is my favorite product of the ones I tested. A certified mascara snob, I’m not easily impressed with mascaras, but the Fabulous Lash is different. It made my lashes look long and luscious without clumping or flaking. To be quite honest, I’m obsessed with this brilliant mascara and will be stocking up.

The Fabulous Lid Colour was unfortunately a big fail for me. It goes on gooey and is difficult to apply evenly. It drew attention to the lines on my lid due to the shimmer and was very difficult to remove.

I love an innovative beauty line that caters to the intricacies of mature skin. Look Fabulous Forever has masterfully created a line that not only flatters mature skin, it’s products artfully camouflage fine lines and crepey skin.

As for their mascara, do yourself a favor and order six of them now. You can thank me later, as you bat your long, lush, fabulous lashes!
