Blending Two Foundations Colors
A little bird told us spring has sprung and the bright cheery rays of the sun have returned. Which means more time spent outside.
Which got me thinking about my makeup. I’m certainly ready for warm sunny days, but the foundation that saw me through the dark days of winter, complete with pale, ghostly skin, will certainly not do for spring and summer.
It’s a good rule to use two different foundation colors, depending upon the season. My winter color is almost a shade lighter than my summer foundation.
I’m spending more time outside now, and although I wear sunscreen, I’m still going to pick up a bit of color. Add in generous amounts of self-tanner, and I’ll be pretend-tanned in no time. Enter my spring/summer foundation. To ease into the season, try blending your winter and summer foundations together until summer is in full swing.
For a more natural, flawless look, use Beauty Blender sponge to apply foundation (absolutely obsessed) and work the foundation down passed the jaw line, dabbing along the upper neck. This will give you a more natural look, and a get out of jail free card for that hard to ignore foundation stop line.
Now that we’ve blended our way from winter to spring, its time to switch to our summer foundation, one shade darker than our winter color. Once summer has arrived, go for that darker shade (no blending necessary) throughout the summer season.
HOW TO APPLY BRONZER
To add a just left the ocean look to your skin, add a fabulous bronzer to the areas of the face the sun would normally smooch. Using a fluffy brush, apply bronzer to your cheekbones, forehead, and down the jawline. Boom ~ just like that, you are summer ready, set, GLOW!
