FCO50: Describe your personal style.

SUSANNE: Depending on the situation and mood it may be very different. Difficult to describe with one word but I like it sporty and always feminine. Fashion is essential for me but always in relation to my personality. I like it when I feel comfortable with my styling.

FCO50: How do you infuse your personality into your outfits?

SUSANNE: In relation to my personality my outfits are uncomplicated. I like it harmonic, so my outfits often are monochromatic tonal and have less contrast. So my monochromatic outfits are not boring, I love a break in style, because I am a lively women and like the surprise.

FCO50: What is your favorite piece in your closet?

SUSANNE: At the moment my leather leggings are my favorite item. The combinations might be elegant but also casual. Another favorite is a small shape knit coat – very stylish and comfortable.

FCO50: Is there someone who inspires your style?

SUSANNE: No there is no single person inspiring me. I like to study fashion magazines, fashion blogs or pinterest and use them as sort of “moodbook” with all inspiring styles.  Mostly the outfits have a certain casualness – an unpretentious chic.

FCO50: How has your style changed now that you are over 40?

SUSANNE: My style today is more reduced and more feminine than some years ago. Cuts are clearer and cleaner and more casual. In a more sexy mood I like shaped and well-fitted cuts without being too loud.

FCO50: What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?

SUSANNE: I can’t live without face masks. I love to sense the skin absorbing the moisture. I am using different masks but my favorite is the drink up mask from Origins.

Today’s She’s Got Style global fashionista is the utterly adorable Susanne Niermann from the beautiful city of Munster, Germany. Susanne lives in a “very nice old art nouveau house”, which probably explains her fabulous taste in fashion.

Susanne loves casual comfort, even daring to add a pair of fun sneakers underneath a gorgeous long coat ~ can you say uber cool? It might not surprise you after taking a gander at some of her fashion photos, that Susanne runs an image consultant company, helping others create their own fashion statement.

Since our Susanne is an expert in fashion, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to ask her for a few styling tips and she kindly obliged!

FCO50: Do you have any advice for ladies who were blessed with large breasts?

SUSANNE: If you have big breasts, it’s better not to wear necklines which carry high. Lengthen the line of neck.  High carried necklines make the breasts appear to fall low.

Darker, muted colors have the effect of conceal and try to shift your waistline a bit lower, so you get more space between your breast and waist.

FCO50: Are there certain styles or patterns one should avoid if we want to camouflage the bits we’d rather keep our little secret?

SUSANNE: If you do not like to express special zones, avoid horizontal lines at these areas, no color lines, no seams, no horizontal patterns.

FCO50: Any tips for the shorter ladies?

SUSANNE: Consistent color lines stretch the silhouette. So if you are not so tall, avoid breaks in the silhouette

Thanks Susanne, for the fabulous tips!
