MICHELE CLARK ~ NEW JERSEY, U.S.
AGE ~ 50
Almost all of Michele’s looks are from her bargain hunting adventures!
I Love bright colors ~ Michele
One of Michele’s favorite looks is all black.
Today’s She’s Got Style global fashionista hails from my own home country, the spectacular United States of America, the state of New Jersey, to be exact! Michele Clark has a gift for finding fashion treasure at vintage and thrift stores and was kind enough to share a few thrift store shopping tips with us, so that we might do the same!
I’m always on the hunt for classic vintage pieces that never go out of style that I can incorporate into my wardrobe. Michele
FCO50: How would you describe your personal style?
MICHELE: I Love bright colors or an all black look. I don’t wear pastels very often and I think a great pair of jeans that fit like a glove always work for me. I love my Michael Kors jeans and Ralph Lauren white jeans, they are always a classic look.
FCO50: You enjoy the process of vintage and thrift shopping. Where do you shop to find the best deals?
MICHELE: I truly love thrifting and always thrift high-end fashion and accessories. Sometimes I find things at Target and my local Goodwill stores. It may sound crazy, but all my looks are thrifted. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to look chic.
FCO50: What’s the secret to finding stylish clothing at bargain prices?
MICHELE: I definitely follow the trends so that when I go to thrift shops, I’m going with a true purpose and always know what I’m looking for. I never go just to look around, I go with a color of something I need in a jacket or pants in mind. I think about what is missing in my closet for the season and the color trend for fall.
FCO50: Do you find good bargains on shoes too?
MICHELE: Yes! I Just thrifted two pairs of booties! There definately is a skill to successful thrift store shopping. It’s easy to walk into Macy’s and pick an outfit that’s on-trend. But it’s much harder to thrift one, it takes an eye and I do read books on vintage clothing too. I’m always on the hunt for classic vintage pieces that never go out of style that I can incorporate into my wardrobe.
FCO50: If you were going to splurge on something would it be a piece of clothing or an accessory?
MICHELE: My spurge would be a handbag. I love my Gucci bags, although most are vintage and second hand.
