I come from a very long line of petite, fine-boned women with teensy-weensy wrists, and in keeping with family tradition, I passed it down one more generation to my own daughter.  While having a small wrist may have it’s advantages, for instance, I’m your go-to girl for fishing out items that have slipped into that tiny space between the car seats ~ winning!  But on the flip side, it makes finding bracelets and watches that don’t swim on my wrists or slip off my hand challenging.

Fortunately for me, I received an invitation to try a line of jewelry designed specifically for women with small wrists!  Btw, the owner of this jewelry line has an inspirational story to share, which you can read about below.

Disclaimer: I was not financially compensated to write this review, however, the jewelry was sent to us complimentary Dainty Wrist Jewelry.  I am also an affiliate for Dainty Wrist Jewelry.

rose gold watch

The Rose Gold Geneva Metal Watch is my favorite piece of the four I received.  The rose gold color is just what you’d expect, with dainty rhinestones around the face.  It has a second hand (yea) and is truly the first watch I’ve ever put on that didn’t look ridiculously huge on my wrist and it needed absolutely no adjustments ~ it fit perfectly!  And the price point is amazing ~ to have a fun and stylish watch for under $50.00 is a real find.

dainty wrist jewelry bracelets

Since I like to layer my bracelets, mixing and matching styles and textures, I chose two bracelets that I knew would be versatile.  The Egyptian Black Jeweled Bracelet (top) is a simple twisted silver-toned metal with two black rhinestones on each end.

The Black Cuff with Gold Sparkle Accents (bottom) is my favorite bracelet of the bunch, and I love the play of the dark gray twisted bracelet against the gold-toned cuffs with just the right amount of rhinestone bling.  At only $17.00, what’s not to love?

This bracelet is a fun leather wrap with rhinestones in three colors and sizes (red, gray and black).  It wrapped around my wrist twice perfectly (as designed) and will add an unexpected pop of color and sass to many outfits.

Side note: in case you’re wondering from the above photo, I am not missing half a digit. Although if I were, I’d show it off proudly and come up with some outrageous story of how I lost it while wrestling a great white shark to rescue a windsurfing Chihuahua!

Since the owner of Dainty Wrist Jewelry, the lovely Elaine Povinelli, is one of our over 50 and fabulous tribe, I asked her to share the inspirational story of how she started her own business at 50 plus and how it feels to be living your dream.

owner of dainty wrist jewelry

My name is Elaine Povinelli, 57 years old owner of Dainty Wrist Jewelry living in Texas. As a single mom, I exclusively raised the 3 of my 5 children still at home while working in the corporate world at a bank.

I knew one day I wanted to own my own business, and as soon as my youngest was 16, I proceeded to define what I wanted. Work from home, internet based, work no more than 40 hours, freedom to take off when I wanted, eventually supplement social security. Challenge – didn’t know what to do.

One day I had a party to go to and wanted to wear a bracelet so I went shopping for one. My wrists are 5 ½ inches and I have never been able to wear bracelets without them slipping off my hand. I went to several stores and couldn’t find a bracelet to fit my petite wrists. Voila! Light bulb moment and there was my idea for a business ~ bracelets and watches to fit women with tiny wrists.

So I began the journey of web design, search engine optimization, social media, marketing, purchasing, searching for smaller bracelets and watches, maintaining website, accounting, etc. I did this all while being computer illiterate and working a full time job at the bank. I taught myself and worked nights and weekends on my new business. It was my passion to help women with small wrists, and when I started receiving emails from them thanking me that they finally had bracelets that fit, it got me through some long and tiring days.

After doing this for 2 years, I decided it was time to make a decision – keep my full time job and have financial security, or quit and focus full time on my passion and business with no income. I chose the latter and never looked back. It’s truly amazing! You see, money isn’t as important as before to me.  What really matters are life experiences, joy, freedom, and peace.

A big thank you to Elaine for the beautiful bracelets and watch and for sharing her inspirational story.  She is living proof that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.  You could not only change your own life, but help others along the way!

Wishing you all the freedom to chase and catch your dreams,
