woman in golden leggings

So you might be wondering now that you’ve hit the Big 50 if leggings are on the JUST DON’T list for you now.  Well, I’ve got some great news for you, my friends, leggings should have a coveted spot at the top of your fashion YES list.

Clearly, the only time we’ll be sporting a flashy gold lame legging like the ones pictured above is when a total and complete public kiddo embarrassment is in order.  Insert appropriate sinister laugh here.

Leggings are versatile, fashionable in every season and can earn you a happy face sticker in the “Hip and Chic” category when done correctly.

But there’s no reason to look frumpy or a bit confused either (should I wear navy or red, oh what the heck, I’ll splice them together and go with both).  No, no and NO!

So how does one who is rocking over 50 like a classic vinyl album, find leggings that will flatter her figure?  To answer this question, we searched from the great Lone Star state, to the picturesque Pacific Northwest to the fashion-forward South, trying on oodles upon oodles of leggings.

But much like Goldilocks, what we found was fabric that was either too thin, stretched out too easily or left us less than flattered, if you know what I mean, ladies.  One pair in particular, was like wearing a neon sign on my thighs that read… “LOOK, CELLULITE HERE, HERE and HERE”.  Nobody wants to see that, trust me!

But while on a travel assignment to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, I stumbled upon a store on historic King Street that held a treasure trove of leggings in a wide variety of fabulous colors, lengths, fabrics and textures.  And after chatting with the friendly and knowledgeable staff and trying on several different pairs of Tees by Tina leggings, I knew I had finally found a brand worth endorsing (and I join a long list of celebs and fashion magazines in doing so).

Tees by Tina leggings are made of an uber-comfortable, breathable fabric featuring Sorbtek Yarn, which has stretch and memory (no more saggy knees) is breathable and provides a fit designed to flatter any figure.

The fabric has the ideal amount of thickness, a comfortable waistband and most importantly, that perfect combo of tight enough to improve upon the look of those gorgeous legs mama gave you, while not feeling too tight or confining. Finally, my exhaustive legging search has come to an end and we have a clear winner!

Tees by Tina Leggings

I loved them so much, I brought home Tina’s summer capri leggings in three colors/styles (plus two blouses and a dress!).  I picked up a classic navy in the micro rib fabric, and a black smooth capri, as well as the snake legging in gray.  Absolutely love them all.

Who loves Tees by Tina leggings and fashion (besides yours truly)?  It’s a very long and impressive list, but we’ll drop a few names… Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, More, O and Lucky Magazines as well as Today Kathie Lee & Hoda.

While I was hanging out at Tina’s place, I also had to have her Cami Tunic Slip Dress (which you can scrunch up around your hips or wear long under leggings for added coverage under your favorite top or dress.
