While on a recent trip to the Queen City, my sister and brother-in-law (who’ve lived in Charlotte for over 20 years and have their fingers on the pulse of all things au courant) let us in on what is fast becoming one of Charlotte’s hot spots for locals and visitors alike, Reid’s Fine Foods.

After a memorable afternoon spent enjoying lunch, then wandering around this trendy, upscale food lover’s paradise, my husband and I unanimously agreed, this was our kind of place! We’ll start with the restaurant review, then we’ll chat about this unforgettable store.
Although the chicken wings are naked (no sauce), they are so tasty and flavorful, these babies aren’t missing a thing. The wings are fried to crispy perfection, then seasoned with just the right blend of garlic and parmesan. They add a heaping cup of Ranch just in case you feel like dipping. Word of advice ~ order the wings, darling!
Give me a good burger and fries, and I’m a happy girl, but Reid’s ups the ante here and delivers a big, juicy steak burger (you’ll need two hands for this monster burger) on a fresh artisan role. You get a choice of cheeses, toppings and sides, allowing diners to create a steak burger exactly to their liking. We opted for bacon and avocado and enjoyed each mouth-watering bite. With six sides to choose from, the happy campers at our table decided this was one burger we’d be dreaming of at night.
We were craving a little comfort food, so we ordered a side of the black-eyed peas. We were all pleasantly surprised and thankful for said craving when our waiter delivered a large heaping bowl of fried black-eye peas to our table. It may sound unusual to fry black-eyed peas, but let me assure you, it was an act of sheer brilliance on the part of the chef. The peas had a slight crunch and tons of flavor. Simply put, if you are dinning at Reid’s Fine Foods, do yourself a favor and order these addictive peas!
After our scrumptious meal, we needed to stretch our legs and exploring Reid’s boutique-style store was next on our agenda. It felt as if we had stepped back in time to an old fashioned grocery store, but with a modern and oh so stylish twist. Reid’s motto is “friendly service wrapped in Southern style” and that’s exactly what we encountered on every step of our adventure.
Locally owned and operated, Reid’s celebrates all things Charlotte by offering local brews (international brews too), produce as well as local Southern foods.
The certified chocoholic in me found it almost impossible not to order one of everything in their extraordinary dessert case. Sugar coma ~ I laugh at you!
Reid’s cheese counter is always busy and I think you can see why!
Fresh, local produce is what you’ll find at Reid’s Fine Foods.
Not sure what to make for dinner? Reid’s has you covered in style with a wide selection of prepared dishes from yummy side dishes to the delectable main course.
Looking for the ultimate gift? Reid’s offers a wide variety of nuts, candies, towers and fresh gourmet baskets.
After two visits to Reid’s Fine Foods in two days, I guess you could call me a super fan, I might even start a We Heart Reid’s fan club. The next time you visit Charlotte, stop by Reid’s for a glass of wine, to do a little shopping, dine in or pick up a gourmet dinner to go. This is one store that has a little something for everyone.
