Your Over 40 Style Guide

Have you ever been to or lived in the south? Although I had visited South Carolina often in the past, three years ago we relocated to Greenville and living here has taught me many valuable lessons in life.

I don’t know about you, but my brain tends to run at warp speed, which causes me to zoom through my days like a hamster on wheel! I may be a hamster, but I’m wearing some pretty sassy shoes while I run!

The result of rushing through life is that we often miss out on so many significant teachable moments. Being a southerner has taught me some very valuable lesson in balancing my life.

In the south, life moves at a slower pace, the people are beyond friendly and believe in the art of real conversation and hospitality. #PutYourPhoneDown

After three beautiful years transforming from a California girl to a certified southerner, I now find myself slowing down and enjoying life. I dance in the lobbies of hotels with or without music or a partner (call security). The classic “robot” or “sprinkler” may or may not be included in my solo dance offs.

When I stumble upon an exercise bike in the lobby of hotel, I now take it for a spin, cocktail dress and heels included! Here’s to letting my inner child go wild!

Accessories are always the exclamation point to any fabulous look, whether you are dancing or riding a bike, am I right, darlings?

In the end, I’ve learned life is all about balance. It’s so easy to get caught up in our endless to-do-lists that we miss the beauty that surrounds us.

That dress is stunning on you Jonet! And you’re absolutely right….life isn’t a race to the finish. We need to enjoy and sip the wine (I’d say smell the roses, but there are none around here yet, however the wine supply is always full….)
