hilton head island

Wanderlust (noun) a strong desire or urge to travel and explore the world. I think I’ll be changing my name to Jonet Wanderlust Wooten!

I’m a beach baby by birth, born and raised in sunny California, and spent more than my share of glorious days playing in the sand and surf.

So when my hubby asked if I wanted to go to Hilton Head Island for our summer vaca, my heart skipped a beat. We loaded up the car with snacks and our two pups and were quickly on our way to the sea.

I thought I’d bring you along to see some of the sights, but more importantly, the record amount of succulent seafood dishes we managed to consume in six glorious days!

Get your bibs ready, because we’re about to take you on a truly southern culinary adventure!

Hilton Head Island is filled with an assortment of tall trees dripping in moss, with ponds and meandering streams teaming with critters as far as the eye can see.

The dogs especially loved our long walks on the beach, their first encounter with the sand and sea.  Bubba pulled Life Dog duty while I soaked up the sun.

The entire trip was sublime, relaxation and peacefulness captured us like pirates on the open sea. But the food was the highlight for the hubster and I, as we discovered new extraordinary restaurants on the island every day.

Our tummies were full, and sadly, it was time to head back to reality. Fortunately for us, we hired two highly recommended Uber drivers to get us there, so we could enjoy our last few moments of vacation bliss.

Hilton Head Island now owns a piece of my heart and we are counting the moments until we can head back to paradise!

Have you ever been to Hilton Head? Tell us all about your experiences in the Comments Section below.

Live, love and travel, darlings!
