Have you noticed Rudolph and the gang are making their way to retail stores earlier each year? Back in the day (wow, I sound like Grandma Moses here) they didn’t put holiday decorations out until the day after Thanksgiving. Well girlfriend, it’s not even Halloween, and I noticed many stores already have isles filled with Christmas trees, sparkly trimmings and Hanukkah decorations. The only thing missing is Alvin and the Chipmunks singing their Christmas song!

It got me thinking about the hemorrhaging that will soon befall (see what I did there?) my wallet, but the fall fashion season has only just begun and I’ve got several key items still on my Wish List. It seems some compromise is in order, and I’m always up for a challenge!

So what’s a girl to do? I happily crossed one of those items off that list over the weekend when I stopped at Target for a few things. There it was, a classic dress in just the color I needed for fall, a warm and glowy golden yellow, one of the hottest colors of this fall/winter season and guess what….. it cost less than $25.00!

It’s comfy, I absolutely love the rich looking fabric and pattern and the back of the dress has lovely detailing. While I was at Target, I picked up a few items to accessorize and glam up my new favorite fall dress. I added a three tiered gold-toned necklace with faux agate stone, a beaded bracelet and simple black clutch in faux leather. I paired it with three different boots from last season, to give you an idea how versatile this dress can be worn.

My hubby and I went downtown for lunch after this fashion shoot and I kid you not, I was stopped by three different women asking me where I got this fabulous dress!

Here’s the total cost breakdown for this fun fall outfit:
Dress $24.99
Bracelet $12.99
Necklace $16.99
Clutch Handbag $24.99

Amazing… Brad and I had exactly the same reaction to my bargain hunting success!

Dress ~ Target This dress is brand spankin new for Target’s fall collection, so I was unable to find it on their website. It comes in both this gorgeous golden yellow and blue. There’s a link below to view and shop all Target dresses. I’m hoping it will pop up soon on their website.

Clutch ~ Target Clutch Handbag

Bracelet ~ Target 3 Row Bead Bracelet

Necklace ~ Target Three-Row Faux Agate Necklace

I shopped my own closet for the boots. Wearing short booties with a fall dress is very in and will allow even those of us who rarely experience winter to get in on this popular bootie trend.

Tall Boots ~ Michael Kors (last season)

Short Leather Booties ~ Dolce Vita (I’m wearing them in grey) Bootie available in 3 colors.

Suede Lace Up Wedge Booties ~ I also paired this dress with a fun suede wedge lace up bootie in black. Looked super cute.

The bottom line it is absolutely possible to be in style, on trend and spend under $100.00, if you are selective in your choices and accessories. There’s something exhilarating about putting together a chic outfit and saving money at the same time!

Here’s to being bargain fashionistas!
