Now here’s a bit of encouraging news from leading dermatologists…. up to 90% of women may be affected by cellulite in their lifetime. Oh joy! I can tell you that I’m one of the 90%ers and have the lovely little dimples to prove it.
I was considering filing a claim with my insurance company, since I’m almost certain my legs and rear end have been caught in a vicious hail storm!
WHAT IS CELLULITE?
According to Medical News Today, “Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs.”
Of course, there are medical procedures to deal with these lumpy villains, but they can run up to $2,000 per office treatment and higher. Not to worry, there’s an easy way to camouflage cellulite and the great news is, everyone looks better with a tan!
According to the Jimmy Coco, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows bronzer guru, cellulite appears smaller when it’s darker. Who knew? Well, apparently Jimmy, and he’s spilling the beans on how to achieve the perfect tan at home.
♦ Exfoliate before applying bronzer (self-tanner).
♦ Spray-on self-tanners ~ Spray first in the sink, to get a feel for how fast the product comes out and how much pressure you’ll need for the perfect spray mist.
♦ To avoid streaks, apply product in a circular motion.
♦ No time to air-dry? No problem, use a hair dryer on a cool setting to speed up the drying process.
♦ Wear gloves to avoid tanning the palms of your hands.
So now that we have a way to do battle with the enemy that is cellulite, which self-tanners work best?
We’ve done a little research on that subject, and here are our top picks for a natural looking tan. If you’d like to order one of these products, simply click on the photo below.
I’ve just applied round one of my cellulite-busting (fingers crossed) self-tanner. Since yesterday was the first day of spring, I’m looking at this little experiment as a win WIN!
Stay tan and beautiful, darlings,
